Idol Picks 2015

Yeap, you guessed it. I watch American Idol faithfully every year although I don’t always write about it. While I understand that major changes are happening this season due to its falling rating, some contestants deserve close attention for their high musical talent or other reasons. Like the 15-year-old heartthrob Daniel Seavey who keeps advancing to the next stage due to his looks that wins the hearts of teenagers despite his inexperience in music, most fans have voted for him and other singers who look pleasant to the eyes. But I’ve got my own pick.

Check out Clark Beckham, a street performer hailing from White House, TN. He may be a rockstar performing vocal gymnastics with arguably the sexiest groan on stage, but last week’s performance showed his sensitive side that simply melted the viewers. He turned the groovy Maroon 5’s ‘Sunday Morning’ into a mellow yet sweet and promising tone for a girl. Here’s the video during the Top 11 show:

Joey Cook came as a surprise. She practically flew under the radar to most people until her rendition of Iggy Azalea’s ‘Fancy’ which followed the adaptation arranged by Postmodern Jukebox captivated the audience and judges. I personally think she cannot win the show due to the mainstream taste of the American viewers, but I reckon she can be even more successful as an artist in the future. Here’s the video during the Top 12 performance:

How about the other 9 contestants remaining? Sorry guys, I don’t even bother to watch them perform. πŸ˜€ But things can change soon, we’ll just have to see.

So who’s your pick for this season in American Idol? Comments below.

  1. I love Joey and Clark too they are my favs. Quintin and Qassim are pretty good too. Kinda glad the young country girl went home… she seemed disconnected with everything, so it was hard to like her.

    1. Living halfway around the world, American Idol always goes live whenever I’m at work so I’d turn to Youtube to watch the performances. I didn’t even bother to pay attention to the country girl. πŸ˜€
